“There was nothing but land, not a country at all, but the material out of which countries are made” -Willa Cather

Landscapes are the physical manifestation of  collective human identity and naturally according spaces. Spaces, like identities, are constructed, and, thus, unstable and in a state of flux even as they are assumed to be  fixed and constant. These landscapes are composed from the land of the Arthur R. Marshall Loxahatchee National Wildlife Refuge, the only remnant of the northern Everglades in Palm Beach County, Florida. The Wildlife Refuge, however, is not only a return to the restoration of a natural space; it has been and continues to be shaped by water management, including canals, levees and pumps.
The scale of the prints forces the viewer not only to interact with the identity of the land of which they are viewing, but also to enact the process of ascribing meaning and identity on the physical landscapes.
Land|||Scale is a collection of folios, printed on an archival matte paper housed in case of yellow handmade paper embedded with fibers.
